Celerant Command Retail: Datamining Advanced Reporting

Celerant Command Retail’s Datamining is a tool that allows you to build and organize your own reports for analysis. The user-friendly interface makes it easy to create and modify reports in Celerant’s advanced retail POS and back office software. You can quickly save the report definition to be recalled at a later time. The saved view will be available in a library of reports that can be copied from one machine to another without having to rewrite the report.

Creating Reports

When creating a report, you have over 3500 available fields.

Customize your own fields and search by keyword if you know the specific field that you are looking for.

On the fly, you can create your own calculations and display the results in an additional column. Calculate the variance between any number of fields. For example, you may want to display the difference between ‘Last Year Month 1’ retail sold and ‘This Year Month 1’ retail sold. Also calculate the sum of any number of fields and display the results in an additional column on the report.

Organizing Reports

When organizing a report, you have many options of how you would like to group the results of the report. For example, you may want to see one report broken down by Store and Department, where another report will be broken down by Style, Color, and Size. At any point throughout the process you may reorganize the results to better suite your needs.

There are several different filtering options within the definition of a report. You can limit the results with up to three different filters. For example, if you would like to run this report for only one store, then you will set a filter by Store for that particular store number. Once the report is produced, you can then filter the results down based on the data that is in a particular column. For example, limit the report to only those entries where the Quantity On Hand is less than zero.

Visual indicators on the reports make the analysis extremely easy. The standard visual indicators will color-code the different levels of information. In addition, there is an option to customize the colors of the report based on the data that is returned. For example, you can display all records where the Margin is greater than 30 % in green.

The results of the report can be extracted to various formats. With the click of a button the results can be extracted to a Microsoft Excel file or to an Adobe PDF file. Also, a pie or bar chart can be produced based on the criteria that you select.
