Celerant Command Retail: System Settings |
|
|
There are four main areas of settings in Celerant’s point of sale and back office software including: Machine Settings, Store Settings, General System Settings, and Employee Settings.
Machine Settings
Each machine in Celerant Command Retail is unique. Some may be designated as registers, others for receiving in the warehouse, and still others for buyers, office managers, and company owners. Each machine is configured by the client, and the configuration can be easily copied to additional users. The copy function of the POS and back office software is generally used for registers and allows the client to create the same settings for each machine in all locations.
Store Settings
Each store has its own characteristics. Celerant’s point of sale and back office software allows you to manage the details of each store in its Store Settings section. Here you can enter options such as store name, billing address, shipping address, and store policies (labeled here as terms and conditions).
General System Settings
There are many drop-down field options in Celerant Command Retail, including discount reasons, return reasons, purchase order seasons, and transfer categories. Each drop-down is entered by the client. For example, you can enter your discount reasons as damaged, family discount, or coupon. After the information is entered, you can run a report by your specific discount reason to analyze the discounts. The general system settings are universal, and will be the same at all locations. That means that you only need to enter your tender types once, and they will be visible at all stores. (Tender types can now be set by store-check facts.)
Employee Settings
Creating appropriate security settings in your POS and back office system, for each employee, is crucial when running a retail business. Celerant offers the capability to map out detailed security rights for each of your employees, based on their use of the system.
A ‘click by click’ security feature exists when virtually every button you can click on in Celerant Command Retail has its own security option. For example, you may give your store managers permission to give discounts, and give clerk’s permission to only ring basic sales. There are hundreds of options for security within the retail management system. These are reviewed during the implementation process, and are customized by you, to meet the specific needs of your business and individual employees.
