Our Mission

At Celerant Technology, our mission is to provide our clients with an atypical, fully integrated POS and back office software solution that enables them to stay ahead of their competition. We execute this flawlessly by using innovative and highly-developed technology, which is highly customizable and focused around the needs of each individual retailer. Since our complete point of sale and back office system is developed in-house, we are continuously able to improve upon it and ensure that our clients’ needs are met. Our retail management system creates an efficient workplace for our clients on both the store and corporate level.

Celerant’s trained staff is led by a truly experienced retail technology professional, Ian Goldman, who has been in the business for many years. Goldman’s knowledge of point of sale and back-office software evolution and trends has helped him influence the creation of our distinctive system, Celerant Command Retail. In 1991, he released a customizable DOS based POS and Inventory System. In 1994, the software was enhanced to be compatible with Windows and an EAS (enterprise application server) was added in 1998 to offer real-time transaction processing using Java middleware.

Our Growth

Celerant partnered with Paymentech in 2001 to offer Quick Charge for POS credit card processing, which processes card transactions in approximately 2 seconds. Also in 2001, we introduced our full-featured, 5-dimensional, allocation-based warehouse/distribution center system, which also processes in real-time to keep all data and inventory up-to-the-minute, yet fully integrated with our real-time POS and back office software. Staying ahead of the trends at that time, we unveiled our handheld wireless sales and inventory tools using the Symbol SPT 1700 Handheld Scanner, with the Palm operating system, in 2002. In addition, Celerant debuted a no-fee stored value card solution and introduced advanced reporting tools, including data mining, data warehousing, and functional advancements in automated merchandise warehouse management. Enhancing our existing e-commerce solution and enabling a tighter linkage between the system and web became the top priority in 2003. We also introduced the first and only 100% Java retail management system to clients and in 2005, our most recent system, Celerant Command Retail, was introduced with a more extensive reporting and data-mining feature, Data Focus. Celerant continued to offer cutting-edge technology in 2006, by offering completely live wireless applications for physical inventory, purchase orders and receiving, transfers, warehouse functions and more. In 2007, we enhanced and improved our integrated e-commerce package and have recently launched our Web Management and Analytical tools. As time progresses, our company will continue to make advancements within the retail software industry and stay ahead of the competition with our innovation and technology.

Events and Associations

Each year, Celerant exhibits at various retail-specific tradeshows including World Shoe Association (WSA), MAGIC, Nation’s Best Sports (NBS), National Retail Federation (NRF), Action Sports Retailer (ASR), Snow Industries of America (SIA), SURF, The Museum Store Association (MSA) and The Running Event. Our goal is to educate industry professionals about our sophisticated retail management system and provide them with a hands-on demonstration of the POS and back office software.

Celerant Technology supports numerous retail industries and is an active member of various retail associations, including the National Shoe Retailers Association (NSRA), the National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA), the Museum Store Association (MSA) and SnowSports Industries America (SIA). These four organizations present retailers with educational information to help them succeed in their respective industries. They also serve as advocates and represent these retailers on issues that affect their communities.

We are also a member of the National Shooting Sport Foundation (NSSF) and the National Association of Police Equipment Distributors (NAPED). In addition to connecting with retailers, these two organizations bring together distributors and manufacturers in the firearms and law enforcement industry. In order to more effectively enable these industry professionals to comply with ATF requirements, Celerant developed a specific firearm inventory module which follows government regulations, and which is offered at a discount to all NSSF members.

Our company is also a respected member of both the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce (SICC) and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce (MACOC). These organizations focus on community issues and promote economic growth within the area by gathering various community members together and presenting them with resources and networking opportunities.

Celerant Technology has an active relationship with its clients and has held annual User Conferences, dating back to 2003. Each year, we invite our clients to attend this conference in order to educate them about the advancements in our retail software that have been developed throughout the prior year. Clients are also able to speak directly with our trained professionals in specific, pre-selected break-out sessions. We utilize our clients’ assessments in order to add improvements and enhancements to our complete point of sale and back-office system.

With the main headquarters based in Staten Island, New York, Celerant also has satellite offices in Georgia, Oklahoma and Florida. We have over 215 clients; representing over 3,000 retail stores nationwide. As our business continues to grow, we are planning to expand our presence to additional locations across the country.
